“The God of your father—may he help you!
And may The Strong God (El Shaddai)—may she give you her blessings,
Blessings tumbling out of the skies,
blessings bursting up from the Earth—
blessings of breasts and womb.”

Her Blessings Tumble
El Shaddai’s blessings are active. They come tumbling out of the sky. Her blessings tumble – they are playful, perhaps bumping into things and people along the way. Maybe the blessing bounces off a friend and then bumps into you and then bumps off of you and onto another– like the way you’re inspired when you see a friend take on a new challenge. Or the way you watch a child discover something so basic about life on earth – like gravity or ants. And the blessing bounces from the child to you.
El Shaddai’s blessings burst. They burst up from the depths of the earth like a geyser. They are unpredictable, not in our control.

We don’t know when they are coming, so we wait… looking at the spot where the water sprang up before. Anticipating, hoping, longing and then – BOOM – up comes the water. And the water is abundant as ever.

Which blessings are tumbling toward you today? Be still, ready, watchful for the playful, abundant, and unpredictable blessings that are on their way. May you feel a ripple of joy rise up in your body today as blessings burst from within and tumble from without.
